Summer is great. I hope that you've had a chance to take things a little bit slower than normal and enjoy the time off. I've had good times connecting with family and friends so far this summer. And thankfully, it's not over yet! We've got some opportunities coming up to connect before school starts up again... here's what's happening:
Next Wednesday, August 17th - Ya'll are invited over to my house for an afternoon of can-crushing (for our aluminum fundraiser) and board games! Who knows what fun craziness might transpire... we'll be hanging out from 1:00-5:00. Bring your favorite game if you'd like and be prepared to enjoy an awesome afternoon together!
On Wednesday, August 24th, our youth group has been invited to join Lake Sawyer Christian Church for an evening of fun at Camp Berachah. We'll be playing basketball and dodgeball, climbing the rock wall, and swimming... cost is $10. We'll meet up at Camp Berachah at 7:00pm. The evening ends at 9:00, so be sure your parents know! And finally, we will end our summer together with a hiking trip! On Saturday, September 3rd, we'll be hiking down around Mt. Rainier for the day. We'll meet up at the Upper Room at 9:00am and be back to Maple Valley around 7:00pm. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a water bottle, sturdy shoes, a sack lunch (coolers will be provided) and some money for a fast food dinner on the way back.
And if that wasn't enough... Our regular Life101 youth group meetings will start up on Sunday, September 11th. Woohoo!! We'll be meeting weekly on Sundays from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Upper Room. Get excited - there is much in store for us this year. So get your friends together and come join us on Sunday evenings for food, music, games, and to explore together together how to live a life of faith in Jesus Christ.
