Hey everyone,
What a beautiful day outside... it's shaping up to be a great Labor Day weekend! I hope that you are all enjoying your last few days of summer vacation - or, for Kent students, your first couple days of school!
We've had a great time over the last couple of weeks with a Fountain Court visit and a lake party at Ben and Janet's. A big thank you to Debbie for coordinating Fountain Court and to Ben and Janet for hosting the lake party and Gerald for towing us around the lake. If you see these people anytime soon, be sure to thank them! :)
This weekend, church is happening at Glacier Park at 10:00am (we're talking about Sabbath this Sunday! You should come and join us). And in just 9 short days, Life101 will begin again at the beautifully remodeled Upper Room! 6:00-8:00 on Sunday, September 9th, for anyone in grades 6-12. Hope that you can join us to kick off a new year together.
To give you a preview of our topic for this year: we'll be talking about Jesus. :) That's your first hint. Come and find out more on September 9th!
One more piece of info for you... many of you may remember the TVPRA (which stands for Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act) call-in campaign that Justina coordinated several months ago. This act, which will provide funding for needed anti-human trafficking programs, still hasn't been passed. The International Justice Mission (IJM) is looking for people who are willing to call their senators on Sept. 4 to remind them of the importance of the TVPRA. For a little more about the injustice of human trafficking and IJM's mission, click here. To sign up to call your senator on Sept 4 (they will provide you with all the info and what to say), click here. Questions about all this stuff? Feel free to call or email or ask in person!
