Hey there.
Although you may not know it, this week is "Holy Week" - and today is "Good Friday." It is on this day that we remember the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, and the love that he has shown us by taking our place. While it was a tragedy that Jesus died, we also remember that it was a part of God's good and grand plan to bring us back into relationship with Him... and for this reason, we call it "Good" Friday. This Sunday is Easter Sunday - which we also call Resurrection Sunday - because we remember and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ! The sadness of Good Friday is replaced with the joy of Easter Sunday... so don't miss out on celebrating this. This is the most important holiday for us as Christians! If you are around Maple Valley, come to church on Sunday at 9am for a free Easter breakfast (woohoo!) and our worship celebration at 10am. If you're traveling, find a way to celebrate and praise God for all that he's done for us through Jesus, wherever you may be on Sunday.
There will be no Life101 on Sunday because of Easter. Enjoy time with your friends and family!
Next Saturday (April 6th), join us for an Afternoon Extravaganza with the whole Life101 crew! We'll meet at the Upper Room at noon for a pizza lunch. After that, those of us interested in playing Airsoft at the new church property will head over there, and anyone interested in board games, crafting and/or a movie can stay at the Upper Room. We'll finish up with everyone back at the Upper Room at 5pm. Everyone should bring $5 to pitch in for pizza. Those of you who will be playing Airsoft - be sure to bring your Airsoft gun (spring-loaded preferred), eye protection (required!), and sturdy shoes and long pants that can get pretty dirty (we'll be blazing our own trails - it's going to be pretty extreme)! Because of the our Afternoon Extravaganza, there will be no Life101 on April 7th. That means that our next "normal" Life101 will be on Sunday, April 14th from 6-8pm at the Upper Room! Hope to see you in the meantime.
