30 Hour Famine Details!

Hey everyone,

Thank you all for your prayers and support. We have felt very loved by our Cedarcreek family in this difficult time. For those of you who don't know, Alanna's dad passed away suddenly in a tractor accident last week. We're in New York with her mom until next week.

Which brings me to the 30 Hour Famine! Yes - the famine is STILL happening even though I won't be around. I apologize that details thus far have been sketchy at best. I'm hoping to clear some of that up with this email.

First off, be sure to download the 30 Hour Famine Parental Consent Form. This form needs to be signed by your parents - AND it has more information about fasting and about the event (including a packing list) that will be helpful to you. Also, be sure to fill out and bring the Life101 Medical Release Form with you as well...

The 30 Hour Famine is happening at Cornerstone Church (www.cornerstonechurch1.com) on this Friday and Saturday (May 10-11).

The fast starts at 7am on Friday morning. That means that you need to eat breakfast on Friday before you leave for school, and then after that you won't be eating any solid food for 30 hours (until 1pm on Saturday). Throughout the day, you need to drink juice and water to keep your energy up - but avoid acidic juices like orange and pineapple, and don't drink milk. There will be reminders to drink throughout the weekend!

The group will gather at Cornerstone Church at 5pm on Friday evening to start activities there. Activities will be at Cornerstone for all of Friday. The group will sleep outside (in cardboard boxes - weather permitting) on Friday night to learn first hand what it is like to not have a home. Saturday morning, the group will serve at the Maple Valley Food Bank, doing some light landscaping and handy work for them. They will return to Cornerstone to break the fast at 1pm on Saturday, and the event is officially over at 2pm - so be sure that you pick up your kids at Cornerstone at that time!

Check out the additional information below. If you have any questions, feel free to email or text me! See you soon.

Peace,
Eric
