Relationships and the 30 Hour Famine!

Hey friends,

I hope that you are doing well! This Sunday, we have some cool opportunities coming up for you at Cedarcreek.

First off, join us for Sunday morning worship at 10am at Glacier Park!

Second off, bring yourself and your family and friends to the new church property at 5pm for a picnic and cookout and exploring the property! (You'll probably want to wear shoes and long pants... there is a lot of underbrush.)

Thirdly, come to the Upper Room at 6pm for Life101! We will be having a discussion about Relationships: Romance, Love, Sex, and Dating, splitting into guys and girls groups to talk about these subjects. Bring your questions along!

And finally, next Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, we are doing the 30 Hour Famine! We have some pretty exciting stuff that will be happening. Are you on the fence about doing this? Give me a call and I can answer your questions. Do you have a medical issue that would keep you from fasting for 30 hours? That is ok! You can still participate with us. Just talk to me. Here are the vitals:

What: The 30 Hour Famine
When: Friday, May 10, at 5pm to Saturday, May 11 at 2pm
Where: Cornerstone United Methodist Church
What: NOT Eating (fasting) for 30 Hours
Why: To learn more about hunger and to make a difference in the lives of hungry people in our community and across the globe.

This year we are raising money for communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo - some of the same areas that our Covenant Kids/World Vision kids are from. To get setup to collect donations from family and friends, you can go to http://support.worldvision.org/goto/cedarcreekyouth, join our team, and send the link to your personal donations page to your friends and family! Remember - it only takes $1 to feed 1 child for 1 day... Our goal as a team is $1500, so let's get cracking and make a difference in Jesus' name!

For everyone who is participating, we need to have a current 2012-13 Life101 Release Form on file AND a 30 Hour Famine consent form (this document includes a packing list and some more details about the event), both signed by your parents. You can find both of those here.

Blessings on the rest of your week! I look forward to seeing you this weekend for Life101 and next weekend for the 30 Hour Famine.

(As a reminder, there will be NO Life101 on Sunday, May 12, because of the 30 Hour Famine the day before and because it is Mother's Day.)
