Hey everyone,
I hope that you are doing wonderfully, and that you had a great 4th of July celebration last week!
We've got some cool stuff going on... A Bible study in arguably the craziest book of scripture (Revelation!) and a collection of random stuff on Fridays known as Phenomenal Phryday (yes, that is spelled with a "Ph").
Come and join us on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-2:30 (note the time change!) at the Wilderness Village Starbucks for an IMMERSED Bible study in the book of Revelation. Bring your Bible and a pencil and get ready for a great time together. We still have three more meetings together on the following dates: (Not July 16 - SLAM trip), July 23, July 30, and August 6.
Phenomenal Phrydays will begin on THIS Friday, July 19. From noon to 3:30 we'll be hanging out at Lake Wilderness (weather permitting), tossing the frisbee, playing games, eating pizza, swimming etc. This is an awesome time to just enjoy some of the nice summer weather with our youth group, and it's also a great place to invite someone new to check out the whole youth group thing. Bring $5 to pitch in for pizza if you can, and bring your swim stuff (if you're in to that sort of thing), a frisbee, card game or board game... whatever you think would be fun to do together! And don't forget your friends either! :) Let me know if you're planning on coming.
There will be no Phenomenal Phryday next week (because of the SLAM trip). But after that, on Friday, July 26th, we'll be hanging out at Alanna and my apartment for the evening! A movie, music, delicious snacks and desserts... it's going to be a "hoot" (you might even hear our resident owls, if you're lucky :). Bring a snack to share and a game if you'd like. 7-10pm at our apartment (email me for directions), but come and go as you please!
Next week is our SLAM trip to the Yakama Nation in Eastern Washington. Please be praying for our team - Brendan Maloney, Christian Maloney, Kristen Williams, Lauren Jimenez, Sam Johnson, and Lisa Leonard (leader) and Eric Landin (leader). Please pray for us to come to listen and share the love of Jesus through appropriate actions and words - pray for safety and for energy in the hot sun, and for unity among our team and for the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts and lives. And keep your ears open here for some updates throughout our trip!
I hope that you're having a FANTASTIC summer! See you soon!
Peace,
Eric
