Sorry that it has been so long since I last updated! Everything has been going along well for Life101 and HYPE. Some highlights:
Life101
- The Fountain Court visit / Thanksgiving pizza and pie dinner at the Upper Room. We were glad to give thanks to God for the many blessings that He's given us! And the time that we spent with the residents at Fountain Court here in Maple Valley was wonderful. Debbie Lopeman and Lisa Murray spear-headed the visit - a big thank you to them.
- Steven Weier and Rey Magana led us in a great discussion of the Book of Mormon on Nov. 29th. The discussion was certainly helpful, and as Rey encouraged us, we came to realize that we need to understand what we believe and why we believe it!
- Fa-la-la-la-Dec-o-ra-ti-ons... On Sunday we decorated the Upper Room on the modest budget of $2. It looks extremely festive, if I do say so myself...
HYPE
- In November, we moved from studying what Jesus taught (through his parables) to what Jesus did (in his miracles)! We talked, drew, and played games to help us understand what Jesus did and the importance of it.
- Now we are spending some time learning about the Advent season and the story of the Nativity. And on top of that, we're preparing for our roles in the Christmas Eve service at our church, Cedarcreek Covenant Church. Hopefully our acting skills will bring the true message of Christmas to many people here in Maple Valley.

HYPE
- Christmas party! On Tuesday, Dec. 22nd in the Upper Room. Come at 6:30 - the normal time.
