I hope that you are all enjoying the summer. It's hard to believe that we're already in August!
We had an awesome time at the CHIC Dessert Soirée on Monday night. For those of you who were there, thank you for sharing so much about your experiences. I was blessed by the opportunity to hear from you.
I do have a bit of bad news. The day of water fun that we had planned for tomorrow will not be happening. Unfortunately, we just have a little bit too much going on. Alanna and I are headed back home for my grandma's memorial service this weekend, and we won't be around! If you're bummed out, call up some youth groupie friends and hang out for the afternoon. You could play board games or take random pictures of your friends, neighbors, and neighborhood! Get up and get with some others...
And make sure that you have our End of Summer Camping Trip on your schedule! It's happening August 25-26 – that's Saturday to Sunday. We will meet up at the Upper Room in the morning on Saturday, drive to our camping location, and spend the whole day swimming, tubing and doing activities together. We will spend the night there, have church in the morning by the water, and then be back to Maple Valley in time for the all church picnic that afternoon. More details will be coming soon! Keep your ears open.
